Patent or utility model applications may be subject to objection by third parties after they are published. Objections may arise that the invention does not meet the patentability criteria, the invention is not new, or it is not an industrially applicable invention. At the same time, research and examination reports can be opposed during publication.
The opposition period is 3 months for utility model applications and 6 months for patents. The applicant can express an opposing observation against the oppositions made. If there is no statement against the opposition, the decision of application is made by taking these oppositions into consideration.
